A DUI suspect drove into the parking lot of the Montclair Police station and rammed the building Tuesday night. Security footage captured the driver ramming the building at least twice, sending his car into the building. The incident happened around 10:30pm and Montclair Police officers quickly responded. The suspect was able to get inside the building, remove a fire extinguisher and vandalize the interior.

39-year old Fernando Gabriel Rangel told officers he was being followed and crashed into the building for safety. Officers determined Rangel was under the influence of a controlled substance and did not have a driver’s license. They also located drug paraphernalia inside his vehicle. He was booked at West Valley Detention Center for felony vandalism, DUI and driving without a license. No one inside of the building was hurt.
