Five More Inmates Test Positive For COVID-19

The San Bernardino County Sheriff is reporting five more inmates have tested positive for COVD-19. Two were new arrests and confirmed positive upon arrival during a medical assessment at West Valley Detention Center. Both were taken directly to isolation.

Two of the inmates were being held at Glen Helen Rehabilitation Center in quarantine when their positive test results came back. The fifth inmate is at Central Detention Center in isolation.

There is a total of eight inmates in the San Bernardino County jail system that have tested positive for COVID-19. Only one has made a complete recovery. Inmates are provided with masks, cleaning supplies and soap and are urged to wash their hands repeatedly throughout the day as well as reminded of social distancing protocols.
